Destiny: The Taken King

Destiny's new expansion's coming out real soon and it actually looks a lot better than the previous ones. Lets hope this isn't a replay of what we went through when the game itself first came out.

Destiny: The Taken King delivers the next great adventure in the Destiny universe.

Oryx, The Taken King has arrived in our solar system, bringing with him a corrupted army to exact revenge on the Guardians who destroyed his son, Crota, and to consume our worlds. Arm yourself with newfound abilities, weapons, and gear. Defeat the Taken hordes. Make your way aboard the Dreadnaught, and face Oryx himself within his inner sanctum.

Destiny: The Taken King launches on September 15th, 2015.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron Review

When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of Earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron (James Spader), a technological terror hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.

SPOILER ALERT!

This installation of the Avengers is jam packed with action, right from the opening sequence you're thrown right into the thick of it and I do admit, at times it does get a little over the top and hard to bare. The CGI through out the movie is actually really good, as we've come to expect from this day and age. It has its fair share of emotional moments, especially when they introduce Hawkeye's family in an attempt to get us to like him more but we all know where we stand on that particular front.

The plot does have certain similarities to the original in my opinion, sometime during the middle of the movie the Avengers get to squabbling among themselves as they did in the first one, followed by a giant action sequence towards the end where they face an army with one dude leading them and Iron Man as usual saving the day. It all just feels like its been done before, oh that's right, it has!

The introduction of not one, not two, but three new characters doesn't really deliver as much as you think it would but that's just because people these days are mostly pseudo-fans and wannabe-hipster nerds trying to jump on the superhero bandwagon but for actual comic book geeks such as myself, the introduction of Scarlet Witch and especially The Vision made me absolutely lose my shit!

All in all, it doesn't live up to the hype in my honest opinion but it is for the most part what you would expect from this franchise and as a Marvel fan, you should go watch and see for yourself. Its fairly well done, certain aspects could be handled better all in all, you should watch it at least once.

Say GoodBye To Invites!

OnePlus has done away with their invite system for the OnePlus One, the phone sporting flagship specs for less than half the price of a flagship.

The invite system that OnePlus have been using has been a major annoyance to most people because it made getting your hands on the phone one hell of a task. The reason for the invite system being, every time OnePlus built a phone, they released an invite, by doing this they made sure they had no extra stock since we all know that phones are depreciating assets.

The fact that they've done away with invites means that we call all grab a brand new OnePlus One whenever we feel like it.

Jurassic World

Now I don't know about the rest of you, but this movie is getting me really excited. Jurassic World is set for release on June 12th 2015 and I just hope the movie is as good as the trailer.

This movie is set 22 years after the events of the previous Jurassic Park movies, Isla Nublar, the island where the original movie takes place is now home to Jurassic World, a theme park the way the man behind Jurassic Park, John Hammond originally envisioned it.

Microsoft Quietly Do Some Serious Patching

On Tuesday, Microsoft released a bunch of security updates for its currently-supported versions of Windows. Apparently its purpose was to fix an exploit that's been in every single one of its operating systems all the way back from Windows 95. Below is a statement that was sent from IBM, the discoverers of this vulnerability to Microsoft:

"This complex vulnerability is a rare, "unicorn-like" bug found in code that IE relies on but doesn't necessarily belong to. The bug can be used by an attacker for drive-by attacks to reliably run code remotely and take over the user's machine — even sidestepping the Enhanced Protected Mode (EPM) sandbox in IE 11 as well as the highly regarded Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) anti-exploitation tool Microsoft offers for free."

IBM said this flaw has allowed every version of Windows to be remotely exploited since the release of Internet Explorer 3.0 in 1996. So far, there's no evidence that hackers have found and have been using this security hole for attacks. However, the BBC quotes Gavin Millard, from Tenable Network Security, as saying:

"Whilst no proof-of-concept code has surfaced yet, due to Microsoft thankfully being tight-lipped on the exact details of the vulnerability, it won't be long until one does, which could be disastrous for any admin that hasn't updated."

All unsupported versions of Windows, especially Windows XP are at risk since they wont be getting any security updates, Windows XP specifically because according to Net Applications, Windows XP is still being used by 17.18% of PCs worldwide.
